A/C, Rain and One More Day in VA.

Yesterday, when returning from doing laundry (that chore sure comes around often) we walked into a 5er that was very warm. I check the temperature and it was reading 84 degrees inside and outside. The A/C was running, but, there was no air moving out of any vents! Long story short, it seems the A/C froze up. We called for a A/C tech and the earliest we could get one was Thursday around 6 PM so we made the decision to go ahead and stay here for one more day. Later in the afternoon, after we had paid for another day, the A/C started working properly again. We now have the fan running on high instead of medium speed. Hopefully, that will keep it from freezing again. I called the A/C tech last night and canceled the appointment (saved a minimum of $150). One thing that helped yesterday afternoon was the rain. It started around 4 PM and hasn't stopped. Not a hard rain, some thunderstorms and then light rain. Sooo, now I'm glad that we are staying another day as I would hate to be on I-95 in this weather. They have already reported two tractor trailer accidents north of where we are and in the direction that we would be going. Yes, there is a reason for everything that happens. Sometimes you just have to wait and see what it is!

Tomorrow, Friday, we are headed to spend the night with Jim and JoEllen (topfuel from the Escapees Fourm and a member of the '05 Graduating Class). They live near Waldorf, MD, just south of DC. and have offered us a parking place. It will be nice to visit with them again. Haven't seen them since the pre-Escapade get-together at Rend Lake, last September. We would stay longer, but we already have reservations in Gettysburg/Carlisle, PA for just over a week beginning on Saturday.

I hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th of July. Come back often and check what's happening in the Schultz Suite.

Hi Jan,

The A/C worked last night and this morning just fine. We actually have it turned off now as it has cooled down to the low 70's. The day it happened, the temp's were high 90's. If it happens again, I'll get in touch for the fix info. Thanks.

Janice

We have had this happen on each previous MH we owned. Turning off the air and just running the fan will allow the AC to thaw and once it has, you can turn the air back on. It's one of those things that just happens in the heat and humidity.
