Last Weekend in Montgomery

I know I've complained about being in Montgomery so long this winter, but there is light at the end of the tunnel now. If all goes well tomorrow with Dean and his dentist, we will be leaving here on Wednesday morning.

Our destination will be Beaver's Bend State Park, Broken Bow, OK. There we are meeting up with some of the Graduating Class of '05. I am really looking forward to seeing some old friends again. It seems like such a long time since we've been around any of our rv'ing friends! Sure do miss them all.

After a week or so at Beaver's Bend, our intention is to head to the Baton Rouge area to visit with our son Terry and his wife. If our son Tim is home from the oil ship, we will go to New Iberia first for a couple of days. This will depend on his schedule and ours. Then we will head to the Slidell area to visit with our granddaughter, Amber and her family, & my Aunt Sherrill and her family. Next we will make a stop in the Biloxi/Gulfport, MS area for a few days and visit with our daughter Krystal and her family. I think we will go over to Rainbow Plantation for a week or so and then come back to Montgomery.

We are coming back through Montgomery to pick up our granddaughter, Morgan to take her to PA with us. She is sooo looking forward to seeing Hershey, Lancaster and Gettysburg. She has been to PA twice but she was way to young to remember so it will be a brand new experience for her. I'm hoping to surprise her with another side trip while we are there, but can't say where to as she does read this blog and that would spoil the surprise! Her Daddy will be coming up to PA to get her and bring her back home. While he is there they are planning a horseback ride through the Gettysburg Battlefield. That should be fun for both of them. We are also planning on a family outing with relatives that live in the Chambersburg area so that she can re-meet them. It promises to be a busy three weeks. Sure hope I can make it through them - LOL. Keeping up with the energy of a 12 year old can be a challenge.

It is really hard to believe that our time in Montgomery is coming to a end. We will spend the next two days getting the motorhome ready for travel again. Gosh darn, when you sit in one place so long, things just don't get put back where they belong after you use them. Then we will need to re-acquaint ourselves with hitching the Jeep to the motorhome. Sure glad I have a cheat sheet to follow.

Today we are at Suze's house doing laundry, having dinner and visiting. David and Morgan will be here soon. This will end our "family Sunday's" for now. I do think I will miss them, it's been nice knowing that I would be able to sit and enjoy their company for a few hours each Sunday.

So there you have it..we are soon off to new adventures, so come on back and I promise something more exciting (I hope) in the future posts.

I can't believe you are getting ready to leave. Saying bye to family is sad but it's good to get away for a little bit. Drive safe. Happy Trails

Hope Dean gets a good report at the dentist. Look forward to seeing you this week-end. Tom has his last treatment Wed. but hopes to be recovered and ready for fun by then. Will be sure to pack the ladder ball so we can have a tournament!
