Escanaba, MI

Yesterday was a perfect day for the drive to Escanaba, MI. We were in search of Sand Point Lighthouse and found it without any problems.

Escanaba is a mid-size town on the UP of Michigan. It's the kind of place I like, not to big, not to small. It also sits along the shores of Green Bay so there are plenty of water activities to be had. We drove the shore line about 10 miles and it would seem that there is plenty of money around here. The houses ran from quaint, old & restored to new and big. They sat on either waterfront or water view property. I just can't imagine being here in the winter! Spring, summer & fall - yes.

The city has a big park where the lighthouse is situated. It has tennis courts, a boat launch, picnic areas and a beach. Very pretty.

I have posted a few pictures on Picasa of the lighthouse and of a waterfall that is located just outside Iron Mountain. Hope you enjoy them.

Till next time - Safe Travels.....
