Pictures are now posted

We are still sitting in the delivery area of Lazydays waiting for one item to be finished. One of the bay doors has a different lock that all the others and we have no key. There was debate yesterday if they were going to have a key made or change the lock cylinder to match. Guess no decision was made as we've been waiting all day and natta. So, it looks like it won't get done today and that means leaving here tomorrow am at the earliest. I'm ready to get going!

I have taken the down time to catch up with posting my pictures on picasa.

The web site for all my pictures is: www.picasaweb.google.com/SchultzTravelPhotos

When we get back to Summerdale, I'll take some outside views. Right now we have other RV's parked real close so getting pictures are impossible.

Thanks for all the congrats. I believe we are going to be happy once we get everything in it's place. I can't believe how much we had in the Mobile Suite! We have the bus stuffed but did manage to get everything in. I now have to down size again, but that's OK.

Enjoy the pictures.

Friends, RV Show And.....

We are now back at the 1000 Trails Orlando park. Last week sure flew by quickly.

Monday (I think that was the day), we met up with Bill and Helen from the '05 Class at the Villages. We had lunch at a place called something Flats - the featured items were served on flat bread. It was different, but not something I would want often. I had the chicken Parmesan but personally, I thought the taste was bland. Oh well, you never know till you try it - right? After lunch we walked the village browsing the shops and admiring the at very different golf carts. It's always a enjoyable time with Bill & Helen.

My Chicken Parmesan Flat....

Helen & Bill - lookin good!

We left here on Wednesday morning heading to Tampa Fairgrounds and the Super RV Show Rally. Much to our dismay, after getting registered and parked, we found that there was no electric available yet. Of course, it was the one time we don't have our generator with us. We were told that the "contractors" were in the process of running the lines and we should be up and running by mid-afternoon. With that thought in mind we decided to go on into the fairgrounds and get a preview.
We walked most of the grounds looking from the outside at everything from a teardrop trailer to a gorgeous Marathon Class A. Needless to say till we returned to the MS our feet were tired, along with the rest of our body.
Just a sampling of the RV show....

This one is for Tab - agree?

Getting back to the MS, we discovered there was still no electric! We talked to a couple of other attendees and were told that the "sponsor" of the rally took the lower bid and it was not the same company that had done such a great job the previous years. Rumor had it, that the lowest bid contractor was fired around 2:30 pm and the previous contractor was contacted and asked to please help! Our neighbor had a Honda 3000 genny and kindly offered to let us hook up to it, which we did. Finally, around 8:30 pm we were connected to the rally electricity! A big thanks to our neighbor at the rally!

The next day we caught up with Byron and Linda Landry that we met while at the Tiffin plant in Red Bay, AL. We had lunch at the Spaghetti Warehouse - we had a coupon for 2 dinners for I believe it was $10.00. Anyway we enjoyed a good lunch and great conversation, as they are also looking to move to the "dark side" going from a 5'er to a motorhome.
The next couple of days were spent between the RV show and Lazydays, wearing us out every day.

Sunday morning we hooked up and headed back to 1000 Trails Orlando for the remainder of our Florida stay, making a quick stop back at Lazyday's.

Yes, we did find a motorhome that we both liked. Do we have it - no, not yet. Are we getting it - well I hope so. Seems for some reason, it's harder to do business when your financial institute is in another state. I spend what seemed like hours on the phone today between Lazyday's and Pen Air Credit Union. Hopefully everything will be ready on Thursday or Friday. Right now we are scheduled to go back to Lazyday's on Thursday to finish up the paperwork and swap personal belongings between the MS and the - OK, here it is - Allegro Bus. I just hate talking about it, as I feel like it will jinx it.

Tomorrow we are meeting Terry & Dale for lunch near Orlando. They are there for a Freightliner rally - maybe next year we can go since the bus is on a Freightliner chassis. We will be picking their brains for any info that they have obtained at the seminars they attended today. Also packing tips since they own a Phaeton which is almost identical in floor plan to the bus.
OK, here is a preview.......

Well, that about catches up with us for now. Will post after we return to Alabama on how the trip back there went in our new to us motorhome. We will witness first hand what it is like to be "on the dark side" LOL.

One more thing. If you are reading this, please say a quick prayer for my sister, Judi. She starts her chemo tomorrow and is really scared. Her schedule is three days every three weeks for four sessions. Thanks.

We Have Arrived

Good gosh, it's been almost four months since we moved our 5'er and talk about forget the routine! We stopped the first night in Tallahassee, FL. and fortunately got a level pull-through site so we didn't have to unhitch. Yesterday (Saturday) we arrived the the 1000 Trails Park just south of Clermont. We got a nice big back in site on a corner, so we have a big yard beside us (sure does need mowing though). We unhitched and got set up without any problems. Even got the dish up and running. During the evening, I remarked to Dean that the back end of the 5'er sure seemed to be wiggly when walking around. Well, about midnight, I figured out why - I forgot to put the rear jacks down! The old saying "practice makes perfect" is true and I am sure out of practice. We fixed that problem this morning.

Today we decided to just stay in since it has been very rainy. I made a pot of red beans and rice and we had picked up some french bread yesterday. Sure tasted good on a rainy day.

Tomorrow we may be driving over toward Tampa to Lazy Days. I'm waiting for a call back from the salesman. Today is his day off, so guess it will come in the morning.

I know this sounds selfish, but I'm so happy sitting here, knowing that I don't have to make a run anywhere for anything! I feel the stress leaving already. Ahhhhhh ;(

Check back soon for more of our Florida capers......

Another Month Gone By

My primary reason for posting tonight is to let all my blog readers know that Dean and I are alive and well - maybe I should say mostly well. Both of us have been under a ton of stress from family related issues this past month, so we are both really stressed out.

In short - my Dad has kept us on the go with his doctor appointments and various other errands we do for him.

Then there is my sister - she has been diagnosed with small cell parotid cancer - a very, very rare form of cancer for which there is no definitive treatment. The doctor said there are only about 100 cases reported yearly. This is now added to her COPD, Bechet's disease and pulmonary fibrosis. I'm not sure that she will be able to withstand the chemo/radiation treatments!

We have spent all our spare time moving her to her son's house then getting her "stuff" packed, ready for storage. When we left today, maybe one third of her things were actually packed. It's now up to her daughter and son to finish this monumental task. You see, my sister is a shopaholic, literally. She has enough clothes, shoes and purses to dress 100 women with several matching outfits! I packed four large plastic containers with clothes that still have the tags on them. Then there is the jewelry and gemstone collection. I'm not going to go into details, but if anyone out there is looking for some nice jewelry or loose gemstones, contact me!

This has made me so glad that we have chosen the rv'ing lifestyle - no room to collect all this stuff, not that I would anyway. I'm trying to make her understand that she doesn't need this stuff, but that she wants it like a alcholic wants a drink. I pray that we can get through to her.

The good news is that we are on the road - left Summerdale, AL today heading for central Florida for three weeks of rest, relaxation and rv shopping.

We will arrive tomorrow at the 1000 Trails Park just south of Clermont. Will be there four nights then we head over to Tampa to the fairgrounds for the Super RV Show. We are so ready for something "fun" to do and I love looking at new rv's - especially when you don't have a salesman breathing down your neck and at this show there are so many people looking, unless you go looking for a salesman, you are pretty much left alone.

We are also going to Lazy Days RV Center one day. I have contacted a salesman that was recommended by our good friends Henry & Anne so he is lying in wait for us - haha. Seriously, I've talked to him on the phone and laid out my ground rules and he said he was OK with them, so hopefully there will be no high pressure.

Dean and I are looking for a new "used" motorhome, preferably a Tiffin Phaeton or Allegro Bus. Of course, buying will depend on getting a good deal. We went to our credit union and got pre-approved for a loan so now all we need is a good used motorhome at a good deal. Keep your fingers crossed for us.

I hope it isn't another month before I post again. I'm going to try to do a post on the RV show in Tampa and maybe our searches for the "perfect" used motorhome. Please do check back often.
